You know what really grinds my gears?
People against gays.
Now, don't get me wrong here. Whatever else i seem, i am neither homosexual, or bisexual. I am straight, but i feel for them all the same. Infact, i know gay people, and they act completely normal. There is nothing wrong with them at all.
When i was at church recently, they were petitioning to "protect the rite of matrimony"
Why would they do this?
Why would the Catholic Church, one of the oldest and largest faith organizations, that has preached tolerance for years and years, take this anit-gay stance? Lets look deeper, shall we?
The church has gotten a somewhat spotty reputation in the past years ever since Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code was released. But, like the church preaches, looking past the spots, or skin color, or race, or other relegion, i will treat the church fairly.
Now, if you arent blind, you will notice that i have been hinting at tolerance of others.
If you arent stupid, then you will realize that i probably did this for a reason.
If you are blind AND stupid, then you cant even read this, so stop pretending you can, and GET OFF MY BLOODY WEB SITE
that being said, i move on....
look in any grade school relegion history book, and you will find saints galore that helped people of other relegions, asains, blacks, whites, blues, reds, yellows, greens, and any of the other colors in a 96 box of crayola crayons. But what about gays?
Well, I dont suppose that there was much a need to help gays, as it was such a radical idea back then. A man loving another man? That has about as much probability as da vinci has of painting a picture without any hidden symbols.
Little did they know, da vinci himself was gay. Yet they still hired him for countless paintings and sculptures, didnt they?
We move forward a little bit. Up to the seventies, the age where all the homosexuals were coming out and revealing their selves. Then the church has a problem. Why? because theyre bloody hippies, thats why!
The hippies themselves were completely undermining the "sacredness of a man and woman"
and, that brings us to the modern age. The church covertly launches slur campaigns against gays, publicly attacks the idea of gay people getting married, the masses mock them, (although i do admit, who doesnt love a good brokeback joke, eh?) and do you know what it is?
PREJUDICE
its the same thing as with blacks. The church "loved" them, but didnt accept or respect them. In my book, you cant have love without the other two.
So lets recap, shall we?
- there is nothing wrong with gays.
- the church didnt seem to have a problem with gays until the hippies came along
- the church is prejudiced against gays
- i am not gay
